On this #STEMDay, we tapped Parker Rounds to learn more about his career at the intersection of software and operations. Parker says from a start in real estate development where he “thrived on the creative, unstructured problem-solving it required.” You’ll frequently find him “immersed in real-time problems” with other teams and translating what he learns about their processes into improvements within Mosaic Hub. To Parker, construction presents a major opportunity to those in STEM. “Communication is the primary challenge in residential construction. Software—and the people who can articulate it—will play a pivotal role in making processes more seamless and collaborative. While bridging the gap between tech and construction can be challenging, the reward—creating software that truly enhances construction processes—makes it worth the effort.”

During this #CareersinConstructionMonth, we’re highlighting jobs that span from the field to the back office, and sometimes in between. Our Risk and Safety Manager Kacie Cancelli brings 10 years of compliance to her role, where she manages safety on and off the job site through insurance, implementing safety practices, and completing safety audits in person. Now that she’s made the transition to a solely construction focused career, Kacie says what makes her the most proud each day is teamwork and improving relationships with those around her. “We are a very diverse, fast paced, construction-tech company that is growing rapidly, and it's so much fun to be part of a team who's so passionate not only about what we do, but about building something so much bigger than ourselves.”

Construction is trades. The work we do as a GC is nothing without them. On Tuesday, we met with our Trade Leadership Council at our Phoenix office.
