Mothers for Nuclear was featured on Wall Street Week! As our needs for clean power are skyrocketing, nuclear is more important than ever. Let’s also remember those 1 Billion people who don’t even have access to electricity yet… 💪🏼♥️🌏🌱⚛️🪫 “This is a story about changing our minds” 34:30 https://lnkd.in/gsXTicPR

Sept 14, we joined Nuclear Vision Portugal and Stand Up for Nuclear in Lisbon to declare our support for nuclear for Portugal! There are nuclear supporters all around us, once we start actually having the conversations- they’re sporting atom tattoos in the plaza, hanging out at local cafes, driving by and honking for us. We WILL have a nuclear resurgence. It’s the only way forward, and our best hope for maintaining a livable planet for humanity. Coming soon, this video will share from dozens on why nuclear is so important, and also how we must shift to make this work. Hint: we have to (still more!) talk about nuclear differently! We’re on the right track, with pledges to triple global capacity, and dozens of countries getting on board. With a couple of exceptions, everyone who has nuclear wants to keep it and get more, and anyone who doesn’t have it wants to get it. Now is the the time for everyone interested in nuclear to step up. Get loud. Express your support.

Attention Ohioans! Did you know that every year, the Davis Besse nuclear plant hosts a community event where you can go on site to a rad car show and fair?!?! Thanks to Vistra Corp. for opening up your site so our communities can come see nuclear up close and personal, with family and friends. 💪🏼♥️⚛️🌎🚙🏎️

Check out the press release for our most recent Office of Nuclear Energy, U.S. Department of Energy Consent-based siting workshop in Chicago, August 24th! We had some great conversations with a large cross section of people. We have received some criticisms about being too pronuclear during our discussions. We'll work on that. ;-) ❤️ ⚛
The details from our recent workshop with NC State and Mothers for Nuclear in Chicago! Another successful event engaging with the public on the issue of consent-based siting of our spent nuclear fuel. We heard from all walks of life, including pro nuclear and anti, yet we were all able to respectfully engage on this waste issue. TC-BC is looking forward to our next event with our partners, and bringing this topic to more people around the country.

I'm honored and excited to be travelling to a Stand Up for Nuclear event in Lisbon, Portugal, to help share about how nuclear energy supports my hope for a clean energy future.
Stand Up For Nuclear - Lisbon, meet the speakers: Meet Heather Hoff, who we are very lucky to have giving a speech in Rossio on the 14th of September. Having grown up in a small mining town in the desert of Arizona, she always hoped to Save The Earth through efficiency and conservation. She eventually got frustrated that people didn’t want to use less electricity. Heather got a degree in Materials Engineering and then happened upon a job at a nuclear plant where she spent many years both addressing her fears and also realizing that powerful nuclear energy could be the answer to powering our planet with the least possible negative impacts. She and Kristin Zaitz cofounded Mothers for Nuclear on Earth Day in 2016 in hopes that, by sharing personal stories and communicating differently about nuclear energy, they could help raise public acceptance of the sometimes scary-sounding technology that just might be our best hope at human survival on this planet. Their group has even been featured in The New Yorker! We guarantee that her experience with, and nuanced approach toward activism will make for a great speech. We simply cannot wait, and you simply cannot miss it! Come and join the movement on September 14th for a greener Portugal! Click this link for more info and networking: https://lnkd.in/d4Hjkc7W
