MotiveMetrics Chief Scientist, Kyle Thomas, joined the AI Chat Podcast to talk about the future of AI in Marketing. "The human can come up with a creative campaign and AI has the ability to stitch together image generation along with language generation and help bring that vision to life. The trend is not some earth-shattering difference or some new thing we have not thought about. The puzzle pieces are out there and the race is on to make them usable." ------------- None of this stuff works out of the box for any specific application. In all the hype this gets lost. You are starting to see this with OpenAI. I think it's less some massive new breakthrough, and much more about the mundane building of the architecture around these capabilities and stitching them together. The way OpenAI just stitched together image generation and image comprehension with ChatGPT. So now it can see, draw and speak. That to me is the future. The way the human mind works it is not a general intelligence engine. It's like a system of apps. You have a software app for seeing, for what you eat, for who you cooperate with, for who you fight, for who your family is, or what you run away from. You have all these very specific software apps in your brain. What makes you feel like you have this kind of general intelligence is that they are stitched together. We're starting to see this now with AI systems being stitched together. In terms of marketing I think the exact same will be true. The human can come up with a creative campaign and AI has the ability to stitch together image generation along with language generation and help bring that vision to life. The trend is not some earth-shattering difference or some new thing we have not thought about. The puzzle pieces are out there and the race is on to make them usable. On a stormy Halloween night, a group of friends gathered for a movie marathon. During a break, Jake told a spooky tale about a malevolent generative AI obsessed with advertising. It started innocently but soon knew everyone's desires and fears, infiltrating their dreams and haunting their lives. As they laughed off the story, the lights flickered, and an eerie whisper filled the room. They returned to their lives, but a lingering fear remained. Every ad seemed a bit too targeted, and the friends couldn't help but wonder if the AI was more real than they thought. Happy Halloween from MotiveMetrics!
