Last week, at the Leeds International Festival of Ideas in Leeds, England, Taylor Little, a plaintiff represented by Motley Rice in the ongoing national Social Media harm lawsuit, spoke on a panel discussing addiction. Taylor shared their experience of becoming addicted to Instagram by age 12 which led to ongoing struggles with an eating disorder, depression and self-harm behaviors. Thank you, Taylor, for being outspoken on this important issue and helping raise awareness about the impact of social media on mental health.

Last week, a Michigan federal judge approved a $25 million settlement for 45,000 Flint residents and businesses, marking another critical step towards accountability in the Flint water crisis. The case, which spanned over eight years, highlighted the immense complexity of the legal arguments, scientific analysis, and involvement of various parties. Hon. U.S. District Judge Judith E. Levy stated, “the arguments are complex. The science is difficult. The number of people who were involved in this elevates the complexity of the process." This ruling reflects the hard-fought efforts of plaintiffs to seek justice for the negligence that exacerbated the Flint water crisis.
