There is a call for the federal government to step in to help the Town of Plattsburgh deal with the aging infrastructure on the former Air Force Base. Roads & underground water & sewer pipes were severely damaged by heavy rains in June. Plattsburgh Town Supervisor Michael Cashman says repairs could cost up to 12-million-dollars.

In 2015, lead singer, Gord Downie, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Having just finished their latest record, it seemed only appropriate to take it out on tour, a tour that felt like a farewell. The 15-show run culminated in a National Celebration on August 20, 2016, at the K-Rock Centre in the band’s hometown of Kingston, Ontario.
