“We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams.” Willy Wonka got that right. See the iconic Gene Wilder flick at 3CDC's penultimate summer showing at Ziegler Park this week. Fall is upon us, though, which means season openers in all sorts of places. Enjoy a stage show at FALCON THEATRE or Matinee Musicale on Sunday afternoon. Peruse a FotoFocus Cincinnati exhibit at the 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati while you plan what to do for the rest of the week. It’s all there, just for you. "Yet we are the Movers & Makers, uh, shakers, of the world for ever, it seems.” O’Shaughnessy got it all right.

In late July, Movers & Makers invited the leaders of Cincinnati’s “Big Four” professional theaters to join arts writer David Lyman for a chat. There was no agenda, other than to discuss the state of Cincinnati theater. -D. Lynn Meyers, producing artistic director of Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati -Brian Phillips, producing artistic director of Cincinnati Shakespeare Company -Blake Robison, producing artistic director of Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park -Bridget Leak, producing artistic director of Know Theatre of Cincinnati The conversation – nearly all of it on the record – rambled easily from subject to subject. For the most part, they all want the same things: more audiences, more funding and a prosperous Greater Cincinnati theater community.
