Last week I had the chance to facilitate the closing session of the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement FY24 Leadership Series, focused on decisiveness in a leadership role. All leaders can improve their decision-making by: ✅ Assessing your decision-making style and approach. ✅ Understanding your individual barriers to decision-making. ✅ Adding strategies to your leadership toolbox to help you improve the effectiveness and impact of the decisions you make. 💡 Leadership food for thought: A study by Mckinsey found that executives spend a significant portion of their time—nearly 40 percent, on average—making decisions. If you're a senior leader, assess where you're spending this decision-making time. Is it on big-bet, strategic decisions that will have a lasting impact? Or are you mired in the operational day-to-day? What's getting in the way of focusing on the decisions that are most important to you and the organization?
