Welcome to #MSEEMondays, where we spotlight our exceptional scientists and staff! Today, we're excited to introduce Megan Kolor, one of our newest team members.
Megan's professional journey is as diverse as it is impressive. Currently, she serves as a marine scientist at MSEE while also excelling in her role as a Prevention Specialist at WestCare in Marathon, FL. Her background in turtle hospitals and zoos, and a degree in Neuroscience from University of Alabama at Birmingham has equipped her with a unique perspective on marine life and conservation.
Originally hailing from Niskayuna, NY, Megan's path has taken her through Arizona, New York, Alabama, and now Florida. This varied geographical experience enriches her approach to marine science and conservation, allowing her to bring a wealth of knowledge to our team.
At MSEE, Megan engages with our partnered resort guests, sharing her expertise and passion for marine ecosystems. Her ability to connect with people, combined with her diverse background, makes her an invaluable asset to our organization.
Outside of her professional life, Megan embraces the natural beauty of the Florida Keys through kayaking. She's also an avid reader, always expanding her knowledge. Interestingly, Megan has a unique past experience in racing custom street cars, showcasing her adventurous spirit.
We're thrilled to have Megan on board, bringing her enthusiasm and varied skill set to MSEE. Her journey is a testament to how diverse experiences can lead to a fulfilling career in marine science and education.
