We hope you see this on Monday when you're back in the office, but we couldn’t miss the opportunity to share our staff’s #WavesOfThanksgiving as we close out this month of gratitude! Our staff’s motivation comes from their deep love for the ocean and their passion for sharing it with others. We are so grateful for the unique ways they bring their work, passions, and personalities into every guest experience. While our programming is great, it’s our staff who make it exceptional—creating meaningful, interactive moments and lasting memories for all who visit. Thank you for making waves of impact!

Learning about things other than charismatic megafauna? Very demure, very mindful. 🌊 This August, we're diving into the chloroplastic world of algae! 🦠 Our marine algae provide countless benefits to their ecosystems—from being a vital food source and offering protection, to stabilizing sediment and producing oxygen. Seagrasses may get all the superhero credit, but algae are unsung champions of coastal communities! 🌱 When balanced, algae add complexity to seagrass beds, mangroves, and coral reefs. But remember, not all algae are created equal. Today, let's explore the many benefits of algae. Stay tuned next week as we dive into the disadvantages and what can cause algae to turn harmful! #MarineScience #AlgaeAwareness #EcosystemHeroes #CoastalCommunities #MarineBiology #AlgaeAugust

We are whale-y happy to announce that we are headed back at Playa Largo Resort and Spa in Key Largo Florida, this Saturday from 12-1PM! Our scientist, Anna Simmons, will be hosting a poolside presentation discussing the importance of our oceans, the ecosystems of the Florida Keys, key species you can find in our backyard, and will teach guests how to handle some of the coolest marine invertebrates you can find in our oceans! We are bringing the ocean to Playa Largo! Our marine science presentations are a guest favorite, written about in Forbes magazine and featured in the The New York Times. We would love to come to your resort! Feel free to reach out to Nicole Firing with any questions or requests. We look forward to talking with you!
