  • We are excited to help shape future nurses. Being a part of Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association's transition to practice program is a great privilege for our community hospital. It’s an opportunity for us to support new nurses and help them transition from school to practice. Below are photos from our recent site visit with Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association to discuss the Arizona Transition to Practice New Grad RN program with Program Director, Karen Ofafa. We are glad to be a part of this wonderful collaborative effort! To learn more about the program, check out this site: https://lnkd.in/g2UxA2_9

  • At the beginning of July, MGRMC celebrated Rebecca Kerber and her retirement from Mt. Graham Surgical Associates. Thank you, Becky, for the time you've put into our community and patients. We are excited for you to enjoy your retirement! "Rebecca, 'Becky' as she was known to most, began working for me in my private practice in 1999. She worked for many years learning the business of medicine. She started at the ground level, learning how to answer the phones, manage patient problems, medical coding and billing, insurance billing management and contracts, and learning how to manage the doctor. She left for a couple of years working in materials management and then returned several years ago to work as the practice manager. She was part of our team that was hired by the hospital when the surgical practice was purchased by the hospital in 2019. She was vital and integral to the success of our work. The most important element that she brought to the practice and taught to her employees was caring. She made the lives of many patients much better because she cared about the patients. We appreciate all she has done and wish her the very best in retirement." -Dr. Bart Carter, Medical Director for Mt. Graham Surgical Associates

  • At the end of June, we celebrated Vicki Brown's and her retirement from our ICU department. Vicki has worked at MGRMC for over 40 years, we are so grateful for her and the impact she has made in our ICU for our entire community. Kerri Hopson, Director of ICU, shared this with us about Vicki: "Vicki Brown started working for MGRMC on September 8, 1981. She began her career at Mt. Graham in the Medical Records department where she worked for many years. In 1996, Vickie received her RN license and changed her career path. She worked as a registered nurse on Med/Surg for many years before transferring to the ICU. Vicki is an excellent critical care nurse and was the ICU Nurse Manager for many years. Vicki "retired" a few years ago but never stopped working. Her ICU family thinks it is because they are so great to work with but the truth is, Vicki loves nursing. Vicki was great in Medical Records but found her calling in nursing." Congratulations, Vicki! We are all wishing you the best in your well-deserved retirement.

  • We enjoyed a visit from our US Congressman Az-6 Juan Ciscomani last week. Although we had a 1/2 hour scheduled, our congressman was intent on making it an afternoon, meeting everyone he could, and discovering our needs and how federal policies affect us here at our community owned critical access hospital. Congressman Ciscomani spent time with our board chairman Caro Gaethje, District Chairman Dr. Bart Carter and our admin team. Many of our staff were able to meet Juan on Dr. Carters wonderful tour. A special thanks to our Auxiliary member Barbara Judd. Our staff looks forward to Barbara Wednesday, which means homemade goodies at the front desk. We understand our congressman talked about the cookies and MGRMC all the way home. #AZCD6 #MGRMC #JuanCiscomani

  • "Hospital Week is the time we take each year to think about and appreciate all who have chosen Healthcare as their way of making a difference in the lives of the many that count on hospitals (to include all departments and services) for help when they are in need of care or trying to stay healthy!" - Roland Knox, CEO at Mount Graham Regional Medical Center

  • Happy National Nurses Week! Pictured here are just of few of our incredible nursing crew that we are blessed to have here at MGRMC. It's fitting that this year's Nurses Week theme is "Nurses Make the Difference" because it honors our nurses who work long, hard hours and often go without a thank you. We are so grateful to have them and we know the impact they have on their patients and the community. If you see a nurse this week, let them know they're appreciated! #nationalnursesweek #thankyouMGRMCnurses #mgrmccommunity
