  • We’re excited to announce that Kemi Olatunji, Pharm.D, MBA, ACE has been selected as Riverside Health’s next Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO)! With over 20 years of pharmacy experience, including 14 years in leadership roles within academic and community integrated health delivery systems, Kemi has made a significant impact at Riverside Health since 2018. She has led key initiatives to expand pharmacy quality, safety, and regulatory programs and has driven financial stewardship in pharmacy supply chain management over the past two years, delivering measurable outcomes. In her new role as Chief Pharmacy Officer, Kemi will provide vision, strategy, and leadership to advance pharmacy services, innovation, and patient care across the care continuum. She will begin her transition in May 2025 and will officially assume full responsibility in August 2025. Meet Brian Shotwell, the Facilities Director of Riverside Smithfield Hospital, whose responsibility is to ensure the infrastructure and systems are in place long before the hospital begins seeing patients in 2026. As Riverside Smithfield Hospital is still in the construction phase, Brian is coordinating the setup of all the essential systems that will support both the clinical and operational side of the hospital. His role is key in making sure everything is in place for a seamless transition to patient care. Dr. Wynter recently spoke with 13News Now (WVEC) about the concerning spike of colorectal cancer diagnosis in younger populations and stressed the impact that a healthy diet and exercise can have on your lifetime risk of developing cancer.
