Over 40 students were in attendance for Tuesday evening’s workshop on Employment Opportunities for International Students. During the workshop, students were informed of key online resources where they can search for internships and full-time jobs specifically for international students. They then heard about individual internship experiences from students Shipra Tiwari, Abel Reyes, and Preethi Mathari.  The students also gave valuable advice for students on how to search for and land employment. The presenters then participated in a panel discussion and question and answer session. Graduate student in Health Informatics Shamiso Mubatsa commented that “the workshop helped boost my confidence in seeking job opportunities. It helped me to find the right resources to use. I also gained knowledge in the importance of networking and using tools such as LinkedIn in my job search.”

Join us at Michigan Tech’s College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science (CFRES) for the Natural Resources Career Fair – Career Compass, sponsored by the Davey Tree Expert Company. This event will take place on Thursday, November 7th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm EST, in the U.J. Noblet Forestry Building (#14) on Michigan Tech’s campus. The fair offers an excellent opportunity to connect with talented students and graduates from our Forestry, Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, Applied Ecology and Environmental Science, GIS, Environmental Science and Sustainability, Sustainable Bioproducts, Environmental Data Science, and Natural Resource Management programs. Graduate students will also be participating. In addition to the fair, we’re hosting a series of company presentations on Wednesday, November 6th, from 6:00-8:00 pm EST. These presentations will focus on your company’s job opportunities, the application process, and any key highlights you'd like to share with prospective candidates. While career fairs are standard at most universities, Michigan Tech Career Services goes further. For over a decade, Career Services has gone beyond the typical one-day event by offering Career Fest, a weeks-long series of opportunities for Huskies to connect with employers and prepare for their futures. Through resume reviews, workshops, and casual networking, students have plenty of opportunities to build relationships and explore their career paths. "I’ve had great success at Michigan Tech’s Career Fair, even as a non-engineering major," said Nathaniel Vogler '25, a senior marketing major, who landed an internship with Stellantis after sharing his resume at the event.
