We had the privilege of hosting these exceptional students in our 2024 Intern Cohort this summer! Cristian Avila returned for his final summer as an intern, and it’s been a pleasure to watch his growth. His contributions to the project management team, especially in financial management, have been invaluable. Cristian is set to graduate from ECU in December! Rachel Brewer joined our on-site project team at ECU’s Howell Science Complex and will graduate from ECU in June. Also from ECU, Lane Herndon and Landon Herndon had an eventful summer. Lane collaborated with our project management team in the office, while Landon was actively engaged with the project team at Sam’s Branch. Lastly, Zachary Kohn significantly impacted our preconstruction estimating group, mastering the art of putting estimates together and assisting with a new software implementation. Zachary is a rising junior at Louisiana State University. In addition to hands-on experience, our cohort enjoyed networking opportunities and professional development sessions and completed a Capstone Project, which they presented to our management team on Monday. It’s been an exciting summer, and we wish them all the best as they head back to campus!

What a gem Steve Hall is! As part of our 2024 Intern Cohort program, we offer our interns and their hosts learning opportunities throughout the summer. We are so grateful to Steve for spending time with our group to discuss the architect-contractor relationship. We believe the most successful projects are delivered when the design team and the contractor relationships are collaborative. We’ve worked with Steve in the past and knew he would communicate this in the best way to our interns! He took us through the project process, shared some fantastic process graphics, and reiterated how clear communication and cooperative relationships are critical to each team member’s success! A great way to spend the lunch hour!

Wednesday was a big milestone for our Healthcare Construction Group at the ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville! Our team lifted a 400-ton chiller weighing 25,000 pounds on top of the Emergency Department directly adjacent to the helipad that services the entire Medical Center! This delicate operation required a three-day shutdown of a main parking lot to prepare the 600-ton crane, structural steel platform, and chiller. Great work by exceptional trade partners and our healthcare team led by Mike Brantley!
