A nice, safe, autumn campfire or bonfire? Great! 👍 (s'mores optional, but encouraged) Dryer fire? BAD. VERY BAD. 👎 (and 100% do not cook s'mores on a burning clothes dryer, please) In fact, outside of the kitchen, clothes dryers are one of the top causes of house fires—and lint and dust are the main triggers, especially in your dryer vent and duct. Avoid having a home #horrorstory to tell around the campfire with these tips to help prevent dryer fires: https://bit.ly/3ZLNutA #Halloween #Spooktober

With the Great ShakeOut coming next week on October 17, it's perfect timing for the 10th installment of our Prepare in a Year series: earthquake safety. Earthquakes can happen without warning, and the safest response is to quickly Drop, Cover, and Hold On: Step 1: DROP to your hands and knees • This helps prevent you being knocked to the ground by the shaking Step 2: COVER your head and neck with one arm and hand as you crawl to shelter under a table or desk. • If there's not one nearby, crawl next to an interior wall. Step 3: HOLD ON until the shaking stops. • If you are sheltered under a table/desk, hold on to it with your free hand. • If not, cover your neck and arms with both arms and hands. These steps can also be modified for folks who use assistive devices such as a cane, walker, or wheelchair: https://lnkd.in/gnptNxut Your #SafetySaturday to-do list: Read Step 10 of the Prepare in a Year Guide for full details: https://bit.ly/3vy4imd Watch this video (we give it 5/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐): https://lnkd.in/gjRwedRc #BeReady #insurance
