Phew! It’s been quite a Summer Launch Week. AI, DRM, IBC — so many acronyms, so many great products and events. And that’s not all we’ve launched lately. Take a look at what else we’ve been talking about: 🚚 Dave Kiss wrote a great post about Truckload, a new tool we have for you to migrate from one video service to another https://lnkd.in/eaqdxj8z 📼 Matthew McClure chatted with Nick Savrov from Uscreen about what they’re building for UGC video + tricks on how to get a good night’s sleep https://lnkd.in/g4kS_q4R ✂️ Phil Cluff introduced us to free instant clipping for live streams and assets created from live streams https://lnkd.in/gM5TzEpb 🛍️ Lamia Chlala chatted with Bertold Harmath 🌊 from LiveBuy about how they’re helping some of Europe’s biggest brands grow their business with shoppable video https://lnkd.in/gjmSAYF9 Watch below as Matthew McClure, Dave Kiss, Dylan Jhaveri, and Emily Dixon recap what’s been going on this Summer Launch Week

Day 4 of Summer Launch Week and we’re handing things over to the AI robots. 🤖 Ok, not really, but day 4 is all about AI workflows that can enhance your video experiences. We have amazing customers like Tavus who are doing the hard work of building generative AI video products. Hear from Quinn Favret about what Tavus is building (video below). But you don’t have to build a full AI application to take advantage of AI in your video workflows. We’ve been busy cooking up some AI recipes for easy ways you can integrate AI with Mux — from easy chaptering, to dubbing your videos in different languages. 👨🍳 Learn more about these recipes from Dylan Jhaveri and where you can find them in our docs https://lnkd.in/gu-TJSbV And check out the latest recipe from Darius Cepulis as he breaks down how to use AI to make a great interactive video transcript experience. https://lnkd.in/gMcpZv57 Don't miss Dave Kiss and Darius Cepulis LIVE chatting about the latest workflows today at 11am PT https://lnkd.in/gjX_HQy9 P.S. We did ask ChatGPT to write this social post, but when the snippet started with, “In the ever-evolving tapestry of digital creation, AI tools have emerged as the luminous threads weaving unparalleled efficiency into video workflows,” we decided it’s better if you hear from us.

What’s Summer Launch Week without basking in the warm glow of Mux Data?! Day 3 and we’re talking about phenomenal Mux Data customers, singing about new releases, and anticipating exciting upcoming events. 🏉 TF1 is France’s biggest domestic television network and one of the largest private broadcasters in all of Europe. TF1 uses Mux Data to monitor their biggest streaming events, from the Rugby World Cup and beyond. https://lnkd.in/gqNzWks6 As Simon Laroque, TF1’s Project Manager Streaming, says, “Today, as more and more users are streaming as their primary means of watching TV, they expect that new services will be as good as cable or satellite or whatever they were using before. In order to ensure that, you need to be able to monitor the quality of experience accurately.” Mux Data provides crucial analytics that are used across their teams to respond to issues in real time and track the success of their events. 📋 Todd G. has been singing about our new error categorization which helps teams focus on critical technical issues by separating business-related errors from playback failures. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gJ5cNJ2x 🇳🇱 Our team is going to Amsterdam! We can’t wait to chat with you at IBC - International Broadcasting Convention 2024. We have so many things going on at our booth, you’re not going to want to miss it: ☕ Grab a delicious cup of coffee to fuel you throughout the show 🍦 Stop by on Saturday afternoon for a refreshing ice cream (and maybe combine it with your coffee, an affogato treat!) 🥂 We have 2 happy hours for you! Join us Friday from 4-6pm (Register here: https://lu.ma/r435854q) And Saturday from 4-6pm with our friends at Fastly (Register here: https://lu.ma/1o3qh95n) Plus so much more! It’s day 2 of Mux’s Summer Launch week and we’re talking about all the ways we’ve been working on to save our customers money. But don’t take our word for it, Dave Kiss chatted with Chris Sev from Video Tap about building great video experiences without having to sweat about video infrastructure or pricing. Check out the full conversation: https://lnkd.in/et7R-fxr 🥶 Automatic Cold Storage is now GA! With Automatic Cold Storage you can save up to 60% on your storage costs for videos that haven’t been watched in a while. Learn more from Lamia Chlala: https://lnkd.in/ef_CaJih 📲 Mux Player already came free with Mux Video, but it’s gotten an upgrade! In addition to being an easy-to-use and style web player, it’s now GA for iOS and Android. Mux Player for iOS and Android is optimized for that mobile experience. For example, it caches short-form video content, so when a user gets so captivated by that short video clip that they’ve watched it 10 times on loop without realizing it, you’re only paying for delivery once! Emily Dixon gives you the details on how you can start using Mux Player in your mobile apps today https://lnkd.in/eWQhSCba And don’t forget all the other pricing levers we’ve been working on: 🆕 Mux Starter plan ($10 for $100 of usage!!) https://lnkd.in/g-97svKd 0️⃣ Baseline assets (with $0 encoding) https://lnkd.in/eUMN4-kh 🎦 Resolution based pricing https://lnkd.in/gDG7sBhH

It’s summer in the Northern Hemisphere, which means it’s time to put on that 3-letter acronym layer of protection. No, we’re not talking SPF (though you should definitely be doing that too), we’re talking DRM! Welcome to the Mux Summer Launch Week, where we recap some of the amazing products and features we’ve been launching over the last few months. First up, DRM, or Digital Rights Management, is the latest tool for protecting your content on Mux. It’s media-level security (we’re talking the same level as Disney+ and Netflix use) that blocks or limits the impact of screen recording, screen sharing, and downloading tools. Read more about the launch and how to set up DRM in Phil Cluff‘s post https://lnkd.in/gp8HzfFV DRM’s in public beta — join the waitlist here: https://lnkd.in/gs7kt-9m Want to learn more about content security check out these posts: 👀 Dylan Jhaveri gives us an overview of the landscape of stream security and reminds us, if someone can watch it, they can steal it https://lnkd.in/gDRxkFFt 🏴☠️ Justin Sanford talks about being a provider in a pirate’s world, or: how to not get your service blocked by an entire country https://lnkd.in/gsV4ydyy 🔐 Phil Cluff and Victoria Nemiah answer the question, “What is DRM?” https://lnkd.in/giFK-XPF 📼 Not in the mood to read the post, Walker Griggs explains it in a great video (below)

This is one of my favorite header patterns for dev tools lately. Layered video visual from Mux 👇 💚 So that 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 in here is this: • A looped video on the right that...    • Starts by showing code (MUX video): right away I know this is for devs    • Then it shows me a player (MUX player) that shows the result of that code    • Then it goes to show the analytics (MUX data) of people viewing/interacting with that video    • Ends with all parts of the video code/player/analytics layered on top of each other to drive that this is part of one 🎁 There are a few 𝗯𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 here as well: • "𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲": that framing communicates that there are many tools I can pick and choose from. + it feels like Stripe for video which is a good framing in dev circles. • "stream billions of minutes of video every day" hints at their 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 (streaming at scale) • They 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 Video/Player/Data right in the header making it clear what this video infrastructure means. And the layered visual explains it further. btw I really like that 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. Custom font makes it so memorable, doesn't it? #developermarketing #devrel #developerexperience #saasmarketing #branding -- 🍐ps.
