In the freight world, knowing where your assets are at all times is non-negotiable. GPS provides the accuracy and security that IP #Geo-Location simply can't match, making it a crucial tool for keeping #freight safe and ensuring #compliance. GPS pinpoints the exact, real-time location of a device, usually within a few meters, using satellite data. This makes it far more reliable when tracking a moving asset, ensuring you're getting the precise location of the carrier. IP Geo-Location only provides an approximation based on the device’s IP address, which can vary significantly from the true location. The IP address might reflect the general location of a network or internet service provider rather than the actual position of the truck or driver. "Hey MCP, what is title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)?" 49 CFR 390.5T defines "Principal place of business" as the single location designated by the motor carrier where it conducts operations, maintains its operational records, and where compliance with regulations can be verified. It explicitly states that the principal place of business must be a physical location and cannot be a post office box or virtual address.
