One of my week's most meaningful moments was a conversation with a young adult I met through Just in Time for Foster Youth. Initially, we planned to discuss his interest in a career in Human Resources as he continues his college journey. However, our conversation took a more profound turn as we shared our personal stories. What stood out was his perspective. Despite his childhood challenges and his time in the foster care system, he confidently declared, "My struggles do not define me." His gratitude for the support received from Just in Time and the joy in his voice were genuinely inspiring. It reminded me of the importance of embracing our own stories, regardless of our challenges. On January 16, myTOD, LLC will host the First Annual Givers' Awards to honor Just in Time, Samueli Academy, Orangewood Foundation, and HR leaders passionate about giving back to their communities. This event celebrates the incredible work being done and the impactful mission of positively affecting our youth. But we could not do this on our own.
