Powering strategic decisions through insights from financial data | Committed to building friendships | I love traveling

🍾🍾🍾 It's day one! 🎉 🎉 🎉 I am excited to announce my new role as a Senior Financial Analyst at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As I celebrate this milestone, I want to reflect on the journey that led me here and acknowledge the individuals who contributed to this success. My recruitment journey began with my decision to attend the NABA INC. conference in Las Vegas this past June. After weeks of pressure from my friends, Lolade Hamzat, MBA, ACIB and Dare Abiodun (thank you!), I finally registered for the conference just a week before it began. Once registered, I researched every speaker listed on the conference agenda and reached out to them with personalized messages expressing my eagerness to connect. Networking with these contacts became my priority during the conference, and I was fortunate to engage in meaningful conversations with a few of them. The conference provided an invaluable opportunity to build connections with peers and recruiters and allowed me to showcase my skills, learn from failures, and quickly recalibrate. After the conference, I kept in touch with the connections I made (including Amazon) and maintained open lines of communication. By divine provision, I went through multiple rounds of interviews and ultimately accepted Amazon’s offer. I owe a big thanks to: 🔸 Abiola Olatoye, CFA, Olaniyi Oladepo, and Chinedu Orji, for preparing me for interviews and providing invaluable feedback. 🔸 Mya Eggleston, Roy Brathwaite, Jennifer Schoffstall, and my future manager, Luis Willis, for the part they played in my recruitment. 🔸 DAVID OWOYEMI, for offering me an internship post-graduation that helped sharpen my skills. 🔸 Wisdom A, for gifting me the bag I carried today on my first day of work. When he gave it to me as a graduation gift, he wrote a note saying, “Very soon, you’ll carry this bag on your first day at work.” And here we are. Lastly, to the recruiters in my network seeking talented professionals with high ROI potential: I highly recommend my friends Dare Abiodun, Mobasshir Hasan, Olubunmi Ajayi, MBA, and Radhika Kasera. They’re incredible individuals with immense talent. I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow, learn, and contribute at AWS. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey. Here’s to new beginnings, exciting challenges, and a future full of success. Onward and upward! #NewBeginnings #TeamAmazon #AWS #CareerGrowth #NABANetwork #NetworkingMatters #TechFinance
