    The National Council for Mental Wellbeing is pleased to announce the 2024-2025 Behavioral Health Training Institute for Health Officials program. Up to 20 health officials will be selected to participate in the tenth cohort of this engaging 7-month professional development initiative providing them with direct access to training and technical assistance opportunities to advance mental health and substance use prevention efforts across the country. Included in this initiative is freeaccess to the National Council’s 2025 Conference in Philadelphia, PA with tailored conference programming for health officials.     Out today! #CSTE and the Big Cities Health Coalition ’s 2024 Epidemiology Capacity Assessment. The reports outline the unmet applied epidemiology workforce and capacity needs across the U.S. within state, territorial, and big cities health departments. The ability of the U.S. public health system to protect us from current and emerging health threats is at stake. The capacity to deliver essential epidemiology public health services for the U.S. has declined — and is in danger of declining further due to lack of sustained federal funding, especially with the end of COVID-19 funding.     The National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) is now accepting abstract submissions for the 2025 NNPHI Annual Conference, taking place June 10-12, 2025 in Minneapolis, MN. Minneapolis offers an opportunity to engage more participants from the midwest, making it more accessible for many of our attendees. NNPHI is offering five presentation formats to showcase your innovative work: pre-conference workshops, a poster session, breakout sessions, workshops, and lightning sessions.
