Congratulations to NACHC Senior Vice President E. Ben Money for receiving the esteemed Dr. John Hatch Flame Award during the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting this week. The 2024 Dr. John W. Hatch “Flame” Award recognizes tireless dedication to keeping the flame alive with innovative programs, projects, and activities that promote health equity. This award honors the work of Dr. John W. Hatch, the W.R. Kenan Jr. Professor Emeritus of Health Behavior, Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, for his leadership in the Community Health Center movement, and his tireless efforts to promote and train indigenous peoples, especially in faith communities. Today, NACHC President and CEO Kyu Rhee, MD, MPP, sent a letter to the Office of Management and Budget requesting that the Administration include in any supplemental funding request from Congress a set-aside for Community Health Centers affected by Hurricane Helene, Hurricane Milton, and other disasters since 2022.
