Supporting mental health after natural disasters is crucial. The catastrophic flooding from Hurricane Helene has deeply affected the mental well-being of many in East Tennessee. In response, we have compiled a collection of resources to help guide you through this difficult recovery period. We understand the significant toll this disaster has taken, particularly on those with pre-existing mental health conditions and their families. Our commitment is to provide resources that offer aid and comfort during this time. Visit our website for a comprehensive list of immediate support options, including resources for families with children and more: https://lnkd.in/gMuu9zFT We're continually updating this list and welcome any additional resources you’d like to share with us. #MentalHealthSupport #DisasterRecovery #NAMITennessee

What an incredible session led by Casey Merrill at the NAMI Tennessee State Conference! Casey’s presentation on "Addressing The Rise of Trauma in Higher Education" provided invaluable insights into how unresolved trauma is affecting today’s college students and the impact of somatic-based treatments. We are so grateful for the opportunity to connect with mental health advocates, educators, and policymakers who share our passion for improving student wellness. Let’s continue this important conversation! #NAMIConference #TraumaInformed #StudentWellness #HopeNationCampus

That’s a wrap on NAMI Tennessee’s 38th Annual State Conference💥 I am incredibly proud of the emphasis we placed on young adult mental health! This year was so memorable for more reasons than I can count. -I presented alongside my mentor and friend, Roger Stewart for the first time EVER! -I met the incredibly talented Casey Merrill (I definitely fan-girled) and learned all about our new partners at HopeNation Campus. -NAMI NEXTGEN showed up in full force with their workshop! I am so grateful for our attendees, my colleagues, and our new leadership Katrina Gay!
