💡 The calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR), a class C #GPCR, is the primary detector of extracellular Ca2+ in humans and influences other cellular processes such as intestinal nutrient sensing. It can couple with different G-protein subtypes to activate various signaling pathways depending on the cell type. 🔬 Recent cryo-EM studies by Zuo et al. revealed CaSR structures in complex with different G proteins, showing common binding modes and specific interactions. The CaSR homodimer binds a single G protein through a common mechanism, with ICL2 playing a key role in enabling CaSR to bind and activate all three G-protein subtypes. 👨🔬 These structural insights gained through #cryoEM highlight the potential of #CaSR for versatile #G-protein coupling and signaling. 📓 Read the paper: https://lnkd.in/gaBbv78Z

🤔 Ever wondered how the nanostructure of LNPs affects RNA delivery? 👨🔬 This important question is explored in “Lipid nanoparticle topology regulates endosomal escape and delivery of RNA to the cytoplasm” by Lining Zheng et. al. 🔬 Using cryo-TEM, they visualize siRNA-LNPs with different nanostructures including lamellar, inverse hexagonal, and bicontinuous cubic. Interestingly, they show that bicontinuous cubic LNPs have greater in vitro fusogenicity and transfection efficiency than lamellar LNPs. 💡The study provides evidence that #LNP nanostructure influences #RNA delivery efficiency. 📑 Read the paper now: https://lnkd.in/gsaHsjDu 📩 Reach out to us today to see how we can apply #cryoTEM to your #LNPs to provide critical insights.
