Meet Bobbi Wells, a 2024 Distinguished Stateswoman of Aviation. Bobbi is recognized for her pioneering impact on aviation safety, continued commitment to elevating others through dedicated mentorship, and addressing the future workforce by addressing culture. 🛩 How did you first get interested in aviation? The airport in my hometown is named Wenz Field after my great uncle, who was a bush pilot in Alaska. He joined the Army during WWII and was killed while conducting high altitude bombing testing in the Yukon. Aviation has been connected to my family since. I always saw aviation as a way to access places around the world I'd always dreamed of seeing. I grew up in a tiny, remote Wyoming town. The world outside seemed so big. Aviation made it smaller and more accessible. 💪 What is your proudest achievement to date? I’m most proud of the impact I’ve had with individuals. My goal always is to help people realize their superpowers by believing in their unique capabilities. I may never know whether I made a difference but will always try. 🌱 What advice would you give your younger self? I don’t believe in borrowing lessons from the future, so I struggle with how to teach my younger self. I do think, no matter where you are in life, it’s important to remember to enjoy the journey. I also believe that doing hard things brings the most joy and fun. If it’s truly scary, it’s probably what you should do. 🏆 What does this award mean to you? This incredible award reflects the promise of opportunity we enjoy in America. It’s the demonstration that someone from a small, cowboy town can make a difference in a complex and challenging industry. Everyone has a chance to create impact and once in a while, you might change someone’s life. 🍕 What is your favorite pizza topping? My favorite pizza topping is Calabrian pepper. It’s spicy and offsets the creaminess of the cheese and balances the acidity of the tomatoes. Ready to celebrate aviation and aerospace excellence? Join us on November 7th ➡ https://lnkd.in/gmWPHSSM

Love hearing Gary Dunn, FRAeS, President of NAA Corp Member Aviation Partners share National Aviation Hall of Fame Enshrinee Joe Clark’s FAI - World Air Sports Federation Record setting flight! Check it out 👇🇺🇸 🥇 ✈️ 👇
I just landed in Las Vegas for National Business Aviation Association BACE week. I flew here from Seattle on a Delta Air Lines 737-800 (with Aviation Partners Boeing Split Scimitar Winglets of course). Fairly routine stuff. But twenty years ago, Aviation Partners’ Founder, Joe Clark, arrived at NBAA 2004, together with Clay Lacy, in a Blended Winglet equipped Hawker 800. Setting a National Aeronautic Association [speed over a recognized course] record from Kahului (Maui) to Las Vegas in the process! However you get to Vegas this week, whether routine or record setting, I look forward to seeing you on the show floor Tuesday through Thursday (booth #555). You can also find me at the International Aircraft Dealers Association fall member meeting and reception on Monday. In closing… I’ll be here all week, try the veal 😏 #ThinkWinglets #BACE2024 #BizAv

Meet James Viola, a 2024 Distinguished Statesman of Aviation. James is recognized for his lifetime achievements as an Aviator, Commander, Safety Professional, and Aeronautical Industry leader, a champion of leading teams, has distinguished him as a true statesman for the industry. 🦅 🚁 How did you first get interested in aviation? Loved looking to the sky as a child and made some cardboard wings around 8 years old and tried to fly from a garage roof. I did not know any pilots so joined the Army in hopes of flying. It was a long windy road, but it worked out. 🛟 What is your proudest achievement to date? Saving lives, from prevention of friendly fire in combat, to civilian flight instruction. Teaching others how to identify the proper risk, and mitigate that risk to enjoy safe flying. 🗣 What advice would you give your younger self? Slow and steady, listening is twice as important in speaking, but know when to speak up. 🏆 What does this award mean to you? WOW - it is absolute peer recognition. That my peers appreciate my having flown almost entirely during my military service, then my working my way up from Federal Aviation Administration Operations Inspector to Director of General Aviation, and then my being selected to be the President of the Vertical Aviation International - To me this award acknowledges my commitment to the aviation industry to develop the industry to its full potential and leave it safer for the next generation. 🍕 What is your favorite pizza topping? Pepperoni and cheese Thank you to Vertical Aviation International for being a silver sponsor at the NAA Fall Awards! Ready to celebrate aviation excellence, be sure to join us today ➡ https://lnkd.in/gmWPHSSM #excellence #aviation #statesman
