As, Kate McEvoy highlights, Medicaid's critical role in disaster response often goes unnoticed. Kudos to the Medicaid directors and their teams in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina for their outstanding efforts. Also, a nod to CMCS for streamlining processes with their disaster preparedness toolkit.
You might not have Medicaid top of mind in the wake of a devastating hurricane, but state and territory program leaders must leap into action to preserve access to needed health services and medications, streamline eligibility and coverage processes for displaced people, and wrap around hard hit health providers. So grateful for Brian Meyer, CPA in Florida, Jay Ludlam in North Carolina, Stuart Portman in Georgia, Stephen Smith in Tennessee, and Robby Kerr in South Carolina, as well as their teams, public health partners and many colleagues, for recent extraordinary work. Cheers also for Anne Marie Costello and colleagues at CMCS for all they have done to expedite and bring coherence to administrative processes that help programs run via this remarkable step-by-step toolkit. https://lnkd.in/gnmC_U4z
