Helping Women Now

About us

NBCF’s mission is to help women now by providing help and inspiring hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. There is currently no known cure for breast cancer, and its early diagnosis is critical to survival. NBCF offers free, innovative programs that other organizations aren’t providing to women facing breast cancer so that no one faces breast cancer alone. NBCF is one of the most recognized and respected breast cancer charities in the world. NBCF has received the highest 4-star rating by Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator, for 16 years. On average, 80% of our expenses are directed to our life-saving programs.

  • At our event, "Love Your Family by Loving Yourself First," we shared special moments centered around self-love and women’s health in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Latina community received valuable health information and early detection resources. It was a day filled with laughter and love, reminding us that caring for ourselves is key to caring for those we love. 💖 Thank you to our food and beverage sponsors for their generous support: Chiloso Mexican Bistro, El Rio Grande Latin Market, and Starbucks. 💖

  • Here's a sneak peek of one of our Weekly Healthy Living Tips: Challenge yourself to add some green, leafy vegetables to your meals to support your vision, skin health, and immune system. Bonus: Collard greens, kale, cabbage, and turnip greens are currently in season! Not only are foods higher in nutrients when they're in season, but they are more likely to be lower in cost, too. Want to see more tips? Subscribe to our Weekly Healthy Living Tips, where we'll send you tips for a whole year: https://lnkd.in/gMqDbc88

  • "On the day this photo was taken, I had been practically bedridden for more than 7 days prior. I could barely walk or stand. This photo is me thanking God for giving me the strength to not only show up but to be able to stand for a 2-hour photo shoot to inspire and empower other breast cancer survivors." We love this picture that our friend Gretchen shared with us recently. Gretchen was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) earlier this year in February and was later diagnosed with a second hormone-positive cancer in the same breast two months later. On July 12th, after undergoing aggressive treatment, 50 of Gretchen's closest friends and family gathered to watch her ring the chemo bell! Her journey doesn't stop there: she had a mastectomy in August and will have ongoing hormone treatments in the future. "Never give up no matter how hard it gets. Give yourself grace, especially on the hard and bad days when you are fighting the hardest. It's okay to let others help you. You don't have to be strong all the time, and sometimes you just need to let your family and friends take the wheel and cover and support you. Know that the best is still yet to come for you!"

  • Today starts Men's Breast Cancer Awareness Week! This week, we're joining our friends at Male Breast Cancer Global Alliance to share an important message. In 2024, the American Cancer Society estimates that 2,790 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in men, and 530 men will die from breast cancer. Help us spread this potentially life-saving information with your community and loved ones: 💙 Early detection is key. Early detection of breast cancer increases treatment options and often reduces the risk of dying from breast cancer for men and women alike. 💗 Be aware of signs, symptoms, and risk factors of male breast cancer. 💙 Learn more in our free eBook, Male Breast Cancer: What Men Need to Know at https://lnkd.in/gr5DuiK2
