About us
The mission of the National Collaborative for Health Equity is to promote health equity by harnessing evidence, developing leaders, and catalyzing partnerships across the many different sectors that share responsibility for creating a more equitable and just society. Recognizing that action, leadership, inclusion, and collaboration are the basis for driving policy decisions, we strive to connect people most impacted by social and racial injustices and to transform systems and institutions built on the enduring legacy of racism, particularly its less visible – but more insidious –structural manifestations. In so doing, we will improve the health, well-being and life opportunities for communities of color.

Breast cancer continues to impact millions of lives every year. In 2024, an estimated 310,720 new cases and over 42,000 deaths are expected in American women alone. Men can also be diagnosed with this disease. Disparities in mortality rates still exist, so let's raise awareness and support for those affected. #BreastCancerAwareness #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #HealthEquity https://ow.ly/AnUJ50TMOJY

Executive Director of the National Collaborative for Health Equity | Director of Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s National Commission to Transform Public Health Data Systems
Today, may we spend time observing Indigenous Peoples' Day. To better understand each other, build stronger communities and address the unique needs of vulnerable people, we must start with ensuring accurate representation. Inclusive data is a crucial first step to ensure that all communities are valued and heard. In a new piece for The Hill, my colleague and RWJF Data Commissioner Ninez Ponce emphasizes just how vital nuanced federal data is to creating solutions that can help improve the health and wellbeing of all communities but *especially* those that have historically been othered and overlooked. Everyone deserves to feel represented. Thank you, Ninez, for spreading this important message and for the work you do to uplift more diverse voices! https://bit.ly/4eY3xJ7 #DataRepresentation #DataEquity #InclusiveData #Equity

What does it mean to heal racial trauma and cultivate deep belonging for a body that has internalized deep wounds... generational shame... repressed rage... and oceans of grief... because of the melanin in one's skin... the shape of one's eyes... the curve of one's nose... the tanginess of one's food... and the violence of separation from one's ancestral people... culture... lands? Grateful 🙏🏽 to the National Collaborative for Health Equity's fellowship program at the The Culture of Health Leadership Institute for Racial Healing, for their belief in me... in my life's purpose... and the opportunity to deepen into these reflections over the next 18 months - alongside some badass activists, organizers, and healers. ✊🏽 #RacialHealing #HealthEquity #TraumaHealing #LifelongJourney https://lnkd.in/g7TKT6QT
