  • The Free State Provincial Education department in collaboration with the National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT) and Department of Basic Education (DBE) has organised a provincial training for GET Mathematics and Languages officials across all districts. This two-day training that took place from October 7th to 8th 2024, at Bon Hotel in Bloemfontein aims to strengthen provincial and district initiatives on Reading and Mathematics. The goal is to align District plans with Provincial and National strategies to better support these critical subjects. This initiative will empower officials to effectively support schools in implementing Mathematics and Reading initiatives. The following district officials were in attendance: CES: District Curriculum, GET Curriculum Coordinators, Mathematics Subject Advisors (Foundation Phase and Intersen), Languages Subject Advisors (Foundation Phase and Intersen), EMGD and CES: Circuit Coordination and Reporting.
