Michael Mendez, for helping me train on the Standing Power Throw, one of six Army Combat Fitness Test events. Who better to learn from than Michael, who recorded a perfect 600 score on his most recent ACFT? The National Guard stands ready for the Warfight and to respond in the Homeland!

While visiting their New York National Guard partners to plan future training and engagements, Swedish military members were on hand to observe and learn from a real-world mission. The New York National Guard and Sweden became partners through the State Partnership Program last year.

Go Guard! The Alabama National Guard's Alabama Alpha team outscored 45 other teams to claim the 2025 US Army Small Arms Championships. This was the 10th consecutive year a National Guard team has won the championship.

“It is incredibly rewarding to be able to serve our local community, and it also provides real-world scenarios that make us better at our tactical mission set as well.” Alaska National Guard Airmen from the 176th Wing recently rescued an injured paraglider at Hatcher Pass. The Georgia National Guard reinforced its 30-year partnership with the country of Georgia during its annual Best Warrior Competition, highlighting interoperability between the forces. Competitors demonstrated their readiness and lethality while being tested in events such as the Army Combat Fitness Test, land navigation, weapons proficiency, and combat water survival.
