Taking a Break from the Summertime Hustle – Recently, Navigate BioPharma welcomed San Diego Humane Society and furry friends on-site to help us #recharge and destress! Dogs have an incredible knack for brightening our spirits and reminding us to take a step back and appreciate the little things in life. Did you know that spending time with dogs has been proven to reduce stress, anxiety, and promote overall well-being? Pet therapy is a powerful tool that can offer so many beneficial rewards to humans. Over the past 10 years, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has partnered with the Mars Corporation’s Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition to fund research studies that examine the physical and mental health benefits of various pets on people. Some of their research has found that interacting with animals has been shown to decrease levels of the stress-related hormone cortisol and lower blood pressure, while other studies have found that animals can reduce feelings of loneliness and increase feelings of social support. (https://lnkd.in/dqFaGUS) With our on-site Dog Destress event, we aimed to encourage all Navigators to take a break and pause for a moment to welcome the joy of summer and the company of others, both two-legged and four-legged. It was the perfect occasion to unwind, recharge, and melt away the stress of the daily grind, while also providing a wonderful opportunity for colleagues to strengthen the bonds within our own company by connecting with each other through their shared love for furry companions! We all need time away from our fast-paced lives from time to time, and what better time to embrace relaxation than during the summer? While sunny beaches and exotic destinations may be on your radar, we believe that rejuvenating yourself can be as simple as spending quality time with your loved ones, furry ones included. Remember, taking care of yourself and nurturing the relationships that matter most is essential for both personal and professional growth. So, let's welcome this reminder to not only enjoy our summer, but to also prioritize the time to unwind, destress, and reconnect with our loved ones.

As we celebrate #IndependenceDay today, we are not only rejoicing the birth of our nation but also embracing the opportunity to spend quality time with our loved ones. It's a time to relish in barbecues, fireworks, and taking moments to pause and connect with loved ones. We wholeheartedly wish you a marvelous 4th of July Holiday and a summer filled with joy and memorable moments!

Recently, we celebrated our annual Multicultural Day at Navigate BioPharma. Since 2018, Navigate has recognized the significance of Multicultural day - a day dedicated to honoring diversity and embracing unity. As an organization we promote a culture of #diversity, #inclusivity, and global unity. During the event, associates proudly showcased their cultural #heritage by donning traditional attire. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as colleagues shared stories, history and traditions from their respective cultures. The celebration also included a delightful feast featuring delicious cuisines from around the world and the melodies of global music. This #teambuilding event, organized by our associates, brought light to and celebrated the richness of different #cultures that exist within our workplace, making us uniquely Navigate. We are thankful for all our Navigators who contribute to the success of our organization by bringing their unique individual perspectives and talents to our team every day.

Today, Navigate BioPharma celebrates #Juneteenth, marking the historic moment when every African-American slave became aware of their liberation. We salute Dr. Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth, for her tireless efforts to ensure June 19 became a national holiday. (https://lnkd.in/ezD_wJb) Why do we celebrate freedom on June 19? It’s true that President Lincoln had issued the Emancipation Proclamation almost 2 ½ years earlier on Jan. 1, 1863, but slaves in Texas weren’t told of their freedom then. Union troops declared the news when they landed in Galveston Bay, Texas, on June 19, 1865—2 ½ years later. Juneteenth celebrates this momentous day. (https://lnkd.in/gqvPZFF) However, Juneteenth was only declared a national holiday in 2021 thanks to the unwavering efforts of Dr. Opal Lee. A native Texan, teacher, and activist, Dr. Lee worked for decades to get Juneteenth recognized as a national holiday. In 2016, at the age of 89, she began a walk from Fort Worth to Washington D.C. to petition for this recognition. Each year since, she leads a 2.5 mile walk to commemorate the 2.5 years it took for news of freedom to reach the African-American slaves in Texas. At the age of 97, Dr. Lee will lead the Juneteenth walk in Dallas this year and invites community members in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to join her. The story of Juneteenth is a story of the resilience of Black Americans then and now and of freedom triumphing over tyranny.
