Grants Pass, OR, like most cities across America, is facing a severe shortage of affordable housing. That shortfall will not be solved by putting more people in jail or issuing more tickets. The real solution to homelessness is providing everyone with access to safe, quality, and affordable housing. Together, we can create a future where everyone has access to opportunities and resources. Check out the link in our bio to learn more about Johnson v. Grants Pass.

NCCEH upholds human dignity by pursuing justice and engaging in innovative partnerships to end homelessness in NC.
About us
The Coalition sprang out from the growing need for advocacy for homeless citizens and the organizations that serve them. NCCEH is a statewide membership association of activists and organizations committed to better meeting the needs of homeless citizens through targeted advocacy and increased public awareness. We are currently working to end homelessness by: - Advocating for policy change and adequate funding at the local, state, and federal levels. - Building provider capacity through training, education, and technical assistance based on data and results-based best practices. - Providing and analyzing research and data from the NC Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). - Assisting caseworkers in obtaining income and health insurance for their clients through our NC SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery) Initiative. - Cultivating leaders, champions, and advocates to bring about systems change to prevent homelessness and to improve the current homeless services system for those who do become homeless.

In April, the Supreme Court will hear the most important case about homelessness in 40 years. Johnson v Grants Pass is a landmark case concerning homelessness criminalization and the rights of people experiencing homelessness. This case will determine whether cities have the right to penalize people for things like sleeping outside with a pillow or blanket, even when there are no safe shelter options. Save the Date for this year’s Bringing It Home: Ending Homelessness in NC conference on June 4-5, 2024 at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh! For the first time since 2019, we will be back in person to learn, network, and collaborate with industry experts from across North Carolina and beyond. Bringing It Home: Ending Homelessness in NC is a statewide conference dedicated to ensuring that homelessness in North Carolina is rare, brief, and one time only. The two-day conference will include more than a dozen presentations, panels, and workshops covering a broad range of topics related to homelessness. There will also be opportunities to network and share your own insights with fellow professionals and advocates. The conference is hosted by the NC Housing Coalition, NC Coalition to End Homelessness, and the NC DHHS ESG Office. Registration will open in March. For updates, check our Bringing It Home 2024 Conference Page, or contact hsolomon@nchousing.org with any questions.
