NEORide has recently released an RFP for a Modular Transit System. This bid will be broken into 6 packages with up to two contracts awarded per. Areas of work included in this procurement include: 1) Connected Transit System; 2) Automated Passenger Counter; 3) Automated Vehicle Announcements; 4) Real-time Operations and Information System; 5) Vehicle Health and Yard Management System; and 6) Transit Analytics and Insights. It was an absolutely beautiful day today in Geauga County at the ribbon-cutting celebration for the launch of Geauga Transit’s Wheels to Work public transit program, which aims to improve access to local jobs. Employees who live within two miles of Middlefield or Parkman can now get door-to-door transportation to and from work, with Wheels to Work routes to Chardon and along the 422 corridors. We had our Ohio Rural Transit Coordinator on the scene to support the initiative. We're excited to see what unfolds in this new adventure.
