Urban areas here can be up to 24°F hotter than nearby rural areas, with downtown, Hilltop, and Southside reaching up to 13°F warmer than surrounding neighborhoods. This is due to the high density of buildings, roads, and heat-absorbing materials replacing natural vegetation. Children, older adults, and those who are experiencing illnesses are more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses and poor air quality. Practice Relaxation Techniques: Learn some relaxation techniques like deep breathing, meditation, or yoga to help calm your mind.
