Ampath provides comprehensive support services to the incorporated Pathology Laboratory practices of Drs Du Buisson, Kramer, Swart, Bouwer Inc Our primary goal is to provide Pathology related services to health care practitioners and their patients. We are reputed for our innovation, professionalism and quality of service. We provide a variety of management and support services to the clinical laboratories. The laboratories of the various Incorporated Practices offer over 200 different diagnostic analyses. They operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and serve approximately 40% of the private healthcare market in South Africa. Our extensive national network of more than 150 facilities includes reference laboratories, regional laboratories, satellite (STAT) laboratories and service depots. We perform over 75 000 clinical analyses daily including referrals from elsewhere in Africa and abroad. We serve a diverse group of over 16 000 clients, medical practitioners, as well as insurance, governmental, managed health care, industrial organisations and other pathology practices belonging to the National Pathology Group.

As we continue spreading awareness this Cancer month, Ampath hosted a CPD event on 10 October 2024 at Life Peglerae Hospital in Rustenburg. Dr MJ Strydom's (Oncologist) topic was Female Cancer out of a GP's Perspective and Dr Piet Swanepoel's (Ampath pathologist and Regional Managing Partner) topic for the day was Digital Pathology and Artificial Intelligence. Our team consisted of Louise Diedericks (Rustenburg Lab Manager), Peggy Oshupeng(North West Area Manager), Nadine Carr (North West Area Lab Manager) and Lizanda Kruger (Marketer). They also had the pleasure of meeting the hospital manager, Denise Botha.
Ampath in partnership with Glenmark hosted a successful Allergy Workshop on Saturday, 12 October 2024, at Coastlands Skye Hotel, Umhlanga. Prof. Andre van Niekerk led a practical workshop covering the latest advancements in allergy management, including new technologies and approaches for allergic rhinitis, asthma, and eczema. Dr. Sylvia van den Berg, Ampath's Clinical Pathologist, shared insights on biomarkers for T2 inflammation. Life Entabeni Hospital - Theatre Study Day Ampath partnered with Life Entabeni Hospital for their Theatre Study Day which took place on Saturday, 12 October 2024, an event designed to enhance healthcare professionals' skills in surgical techniques and patient care. The day featured interactive workshops and discussions led by Dr. André Rocher and Dr. Naeem Hassen, focusing on advancements in minimally invasive surgery and the importance of effective team communication in the operating room. The event concluded with a table discussion on the critical care and accurate processing of histology and cytology specimens, led by Christina Ramdin, an Ampath Histology Technologist. This collaborative event provided valuable insights and hands-on experience for attendees, reinforcing Ampath’s commitment to supporting the continuous development of medical professionals.
