We had a great evening (a couple of weeks ago) at the New England Legal Foundation's 10th Annual John G.L. Cabot Award Dinner honoring two inspirational leaders - Regina Bynote Jones and Grace Lee. It was a fun time with this wonderful (mostly Boston-based) group: Renuka Drummond, Angie Von Pageler, Peter Kay, Nicole Wells, Michael Horoho, Jeff Bockus and Dylan Nadeau. It was great seeing Tim Parilla, the Chair of the Board of Directors of NELF, and catching up with many familiar (and new) people while we learned about the important work of this organization and celebrated the honorees. ⚖️

📢 Victory for NELF! In a landmark decision, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled in favor of NELF’s position in Vita v. Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Vita v. New England Baptist Hospital, confirming that the state’s wiretapping act does not cover online data tracking. NELF, alongside the Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM), argued that the 1968 wiretapping law was intended for conversational privacy, not internet browsing.
