Earlier this month we had the honor of welcoming our friends from WNY HEROES INC to our office—along with a very special guest, Captain, the service dog being sponsored by the New Era Cap Foundation! Our team had the opportunity to learn about the Pawsitive for Heroes program and the many ways WNY Heroes supports veterans in our community. Captain is more than just a dog—he’s a life-changing companion for a veteran in need. We’re grateful for the chance to contribute to this mission and to support those who have served our country. A huge thank you to WNY Heroes for the incredible work you do!

In September 2024, the New Era Cap Foundation hosted our first annual employee golf outing, raising $8,000. Employees voted on which local nonprofit organization they wanted the funds awarded to, and we are excited to share the winner is Catching Dreams Charters! Catching Dreamers Charters provides fishing adventures for children and young adults battling cancer, at no charge to the family. It is their belief that by “turning wishing into fishing,” these trips on the water allow the children they support to regain a sense of normalcy in their lives, find respite from the challenges of cancer treatment, and spend time learning and enjoying a new activity. New Era welcomed Captain Ned from Catching Dreams into our office last month to celebrate the good news, share more about his mission with our employees, and to hear from special guest, Luke. Luke, who was one of Catching Dreams’ first fishing trip recipients, shared insight into how powerful fishing therapy can be for a child going through treatment. P.U.N.T. shared that the gift drive allows families to enjoy the holidays without worrying about finances or other emotional hardships. New Era is proud to partner with P.U.N.T. for their holiday gift drive, as well as with their Helping Hands/New Era Safety Net program, which assists families facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis with support in paying household bills.
