Enhancing the economic vitality of the State of New Hampshire and promoting it as a destination to live, work and visit.
About us
The Department of Business and Economic Affairs (BEA) is dedicated to enhancing the economic vitality of the State of New Hampshire and promoting it as a destination to live, work and visit. Established in 2017, BEA is a cabinet-level agency which leads New Hampshire’s pro-growth state policy efforts for workforce development, tourism marketing and promotion, business recruitment, retention, expansion, international commerce, and economic development statewide. Our responsive staff links businesses and manufacturers to innovative programs and services to help them grow and prosper and those considering relocation to or expansion in the Granite State. The majority of our programs and services are provided at no cost. In addition to providing assistance in areas ranging from licensing and financing to permitting and workforce training, the Division of Economic Development staff works with federal, regional, local and other state agencies, as well as with private sector partners, to deliver services. Today we celebrate National APEX Day with this great testimonial from Jake Reder, CEO of Celdara Medical on his experience with our team: NH APEX Accelerator provided us with a subject matter expert who really dug in and helped. In short order he learned about the contracting opportunity, our response to same, and helped us interpret and parse the gray areas. We were on a very tight timeline, and he was responding incredibly quickly, even outside of business hours. Amazing. We would almost certainly have hit an administrative tripwire without his help.
