  • Ensure your chimney is cleaned and inspected at least once a year by a professional. This helps remove creosote buildup, which can ignite and cause chimney fires. With cooler temps, schedule your cleaning before the heating season really heats up to ensure your fireplace operates safely and efficiently all winter long. Regular maintenance not only protects your home but also enhances the longevity of your chimney. Stay safe! #FireTipFriday #nhsfa #firesafety

  • 🔥 Fire Tip Friday 🔥 Having the right fire safety equipment can make all the difference in an emergency. Here are a few essentials to consider: ✅ Smoke Detectors - Ensure you have working smoke detectors installed in every room and check the batteries regularly. ✅ Fire Extinguishers - Keep a fire extinguisher in key areas of your home, like the kitchen and garage. Know how to use it! ✅ Fire Blankets - A fire blanket can be a lifesaver for small fires and can help smother flames quickly. ✅ Escape Plan - Create and practice a fire escape plan with your family, so everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency. ✅ Carbon Monoxide Detectors - Don’t forget about the silent threat! Install carbon monoxide detectors to keep your home safe from this dangerous gas. Investing in these tools is not just about compliance; it’s about peace of mind knowing you’re taking proactive steps to ensure safety for yourself and your loved ones. Stay safe and prepared! #firetipfriday #FirePreventionWeek #nhsfa #SmokeAlarmsSaveLives

  • It's Fire Prevention Week! This week serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of fire safety in our homes and communities. One of the simplest yet most effective ways to protect yourself and your loved ones is by ensuring you have working smoke alarms. Smoke alarms save lives by providing an early warning in case of a fire, giving you precious minutes to escape safely. Remember to test your alarms monthly, change the batteries at least once a year, and replace the units every 10 years. Let's prioritize safety and make sure our homes are equipped to protect us! Stay safe! #nhsfa #FirePreventionWeek #SmokeAlarmsSaveLives

  • This morning, family, friends, colleagues, and members of the fire service gathered in Concord for the 18th Annual New Hampshire Fallen Firefighters Memorial to pay tribute to the 94 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. Lieutenant Jess Wyman of the Nashua Fire Rescue Department was added to the memorial. It was a poignant moment as her name was unveiled by the honor guard, followed by her husband ringing the bell and offering a salute. Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring the memory of these brave firefighters. We invite you to be with us again next year on September 27, 2025. 🚒
