Land changes everything—especially for women in vulnerable families. Securing land and home ownership enhances women's social position and financial security. It also provides women with a transferable asset, aiding economic security for her and her children.

Miriam’s dream is simple yet powerful: a home where her daughters can grow, dream, and feel secure. Miriam took the first step by securing a plot of land. Together, we can help more families like Miriam's to own their own home.

Women own just 30% of homes in Mexico — that has to change. Because when women own property, they break the cycle of poverty, build generational wealth, and take ownership of their futures.

For years, Milagro and her daughter, Gabriela, moved from place to place, dreaming of safe, stable housing. When they finally received their home, it became a foundation for their future. Now, Gabriela is thriving, pursuing an education, and building the life her mother always dreamed for her.

Last weekend in Jamay, Jalisco, 1,800+ people showed up to learn about New Story and UR+PA’s newest project: 353 affordable lots that will become a thriving community. Safe, legal, and affordable access to land is a critical step toward housing security, and this turnout is a testament to the need. A huge thank you to Carlos Ochoa Fernandez, UR+PA, and the Jamay community for making this launch a reality.

Mexico has a housing gap of 8.5 million homes, affecting 33 million people (33 million people = everyone in Texas and Oregon combined). Lack of access to land ownership fuels poverty, inequality, and unfair social structures. Our approach helps vulnerable families buy land, establish a credit profile, and access home building resources.
