This digital innovation introduces a new tool to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and real-time tracking by consolidating data, providing live updates, and offering a comprehensive system overview for field workers and management to better track progress and ensure job reliability.   Shannon McAvoy will share case studies to identify key parameters that indicate heat transfer degradation in air-cooled heat exchangers (ACHEs). Attendees will learn to assess ACHE performance improvements through KPIs, energy efficiency, and maintenance costs, ultimately enhancing return on investment. Congratulations to Joel Frederick, our September #ArtisanOfTheMonth! Joel joined RTI in January of 2024 as a Shop Coordinator out of our Houston Distribution Center and hit the ground running. When asked what aspect of his role is his favorite, Joel replied, "the problem-solving... there's something satisfying about identifying a problem and being able to help provide a solution. Another thing I enjoy is the tremendous opportunity to work with and learn from such an incredible team." In his brief time at RTI, Joel has already had many memorable moments and is excited for the future. He said, "It has been exciting to see how new ideas are implemented and grow in importance." Outside of work, Joel loves hiking and spending time in nature. He and his wife even have a goal to visit all of the National Parks! He said the best part of his role is "getting to work directly with every new hire that walks through the door, getting to build relationships, and getting to know all different types of people within the company". Jake is a big outdoorsman and enjoys all activities, particularly golf. "Jake takes ownership and responsibility to assist all Artisans in any way he can. In this post, we will spotlight our Director of Strategic Development, Josh Morgan, with a few Q&As to help you get to know our team and hear how we aim to serve our clients with excellence. What do you do? I help clients identify actionable opportunities for continuous improvement across their Turnaround Management and Operations organizations. Whether they operate a single unit, an entire site, or a large manufacturing network, our clients share a strong commitment to sustainable performance improvement in turnaround activities. My role involves collaborating with executives, directors, managers, and technical and operational teams. Together, we conduct a comprehensive assessment of their current turnaround processes, practices, and organization. This analysis helps pinpoint the most high-impact actions they can take to achieve world-class turnaround performance. What do you enjoy most about your role? One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is building relationships with passionate refining and manufacturing professionals across North America. During consulting engagements, we develop a deep understanding of their operations. This transparency reveals the exceptional professionalism and dedication that these talented individuals possess. The level of sincerity I consistently encounter reinforces my pride in working within the refining and manufacturing industry. What are key focus areas in your work? My focus areas encompass both the core principles of turnaround management and the unique nuances specific to each client, site, and often, even individual units. While turnaround continuous improvement has traditionally focused on the turnaround management phase, significant opportunities exist in the operations bookends – from de-commissioning and handover to maintenance, to commissioning and startup after major mechanical completion. Many facilities acknowledge this potential for improvement but may hesitate to embark on such initiatives. My role involves showcasing successful industry-wide practices in optimizing these "operations bookends" and demonstrating how these advancements can translate into success at their site. Ultimately, our goal is to empower clients to delight our clients and achieve operational excellence through a holistic approach to turnaround management.
