A Leap Forward in Mathematics! 👏 We celebrate the achievements of our very own New Orleans natives, Calcea Johnson and Ne’Kiya Jackson, for demonstrating excellence and proudly representing our city. Last year, while still in high school, they discovered five novel proofs of the Pythagorean Theorem. From the trade show floor to networking events, our team showcased why New Orleans is the premier destination for unforgettable meetings! 💼 DC Client Luncheon: We partnered with the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans Marriott, Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, and Hotel Monteleone to showcase how New Orleans is #BuiltToHost, offering unmatched hospitality, world-class venues, and rich cultural experiences. 🤝 Connections: Empowering Small & Diverse Business: This was our External Affairs and membership team's first time hosting an event for small diverse businesses to showcase to the industry. We partnered with the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana, New Orleans Black Chamber of Commerce, Propeller, NOLABA, and The Windsor Court. 🇨🇦 Western Canadian Sales Mission: Olivia Markase with our Tourism Sales team joined the Louisiana Office of Tourism's Western Canada Sales Mission to Vancouver, BC, and Calgary, AB, Canada from October 21-25. Olivia exhibited, networked, and presented New Orleans to over 150 travel advisors and 20 media partners between the two cities. ✨Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: New Orleans prepared for the highly anticipated Eras Tour, our Convention Services team spread the excitement by delivering Taylor Swift friendship bracelets to downtown member hotels! #SustainabilitySaturday | STEM Library Lab in New Orleans is a nonprofit organization that provides educators with the tools and resources needed to enhance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education. It operates as a lending library, offering teachers access to a wide range of STEM materials, including science kits, technology devices, engineering models, and math resources, which might otherwise be unavailable due to budget constraints. They are recipients of Love Your City's bronze equity, education, water management, and gold local culture badges respectively. The lab also provides professional development opportunities and support to help educators integrate hands-on, inquiry-based learning into their classrooms. Through these services, STEM Library Lab aims to promote equitable access to quality STEM education, fostering a love for science and critical thinking among students across New Orleans. The team at New Orleans and Company sends deepest sympathies and prayers to Bethany Paulsen, sons Jon and Emmett, daughter Lexei, the staff at WWL-TV and the multitude of family, friends and loved ones of Eric Paulsen. Eric will remain in our hearts as the legendary journalist from PM Magazine to the morning news, and a news person who beautifully told stories about New Orleans for nearly half a century.
