NWG CEO, Wendy Mosher attends the National Renewable Energy Laboratory Industry Growth Forum in Denver, CO this week. This is an incredible opportunity to meet with fellow technology companies serving the energy transition markets, who offer sustainable and efficient solutions. This event fosters connections with with investors, service providers, and NREL experts who help combine innovative financing, and strategic partnerships to advance technologies and just as importantly build supply chains for scale. #NRELIGF2025 #AMPLIFY #oilseed #renewablefuels #geneticinnovation #supplychain

About us
New West Genetics is developing and improving Industrial hemp genetics for adaptation to various regions of the United States. We combine traditional breeding with modern genomics to create stable genetics, optimized traits across industries, and varities adapted for large-scale production. Whether it is breeding Industrial hemp cultivars adapted to regions in the US, or refining the medicinal applications of the cannabinoids, we are excited to share our expertise to help convert an underutilized plant to a legitimate crop and array of products in the value chain.

The research shows that hemp roots not only grow remarkably deep, but also establish much more density at greater depths when compared to other crops. Density is of course is mainly attributed to more plants per acre, but also to the fact that hemps roots are naturally “branchy” and explore more volume of the soil, compared to a crop like corn. ”Hemp roots were found to grow deep into the soil, reaching depths of 90 to 200 cm. Root diameter was finer (190 μm) in the upper soil layer, it increased with depth until 100 cm, and remained constant at 300 μm thereafter.” More Info :: https://lnkd.in/gdpxenRQ New West also tested these theories in our seed production field. When should I plant??? Our agronomist would ask what soil conditions are, what the coming weather is, and about 10 more questions in order to answer that one. “Environmental conditions at planting are more important than a date on the calendar,” sage advice from NWG Agronomist, Daniel Willis. Two heads are better than one! NWG is happy to help our customers make these key decisions in order to mitigate risk. From hosting webinars to taking phone calls while you’re in the field, to showing up to help you adjust your combine- NWG is here to help you succeed with your crop. #plantingseason #precipitation #soilmoisture #fieldselection #soiltypes

As claimed, not only does hemp allow for sustainable farming practices, but also creates sustainable products. Many hemp fiber products provide durable carbon sequestration, or long-term carbon sequestration. We now have yet another peer reviewed paper supporting this claim: published just last month in the esteemed journal Science, Van Roijen et al. found “that fully replacing conventional building materials with CO2-storing alternatives in new infrastructure could store as much as 16.6 ± 2.8 billion tonnes of CO2 each year—roughly 50% of anthropogenic CO2 emissions in 2021.” Access the Research ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gXGucthB #sustainablematerials #hempfarming #hemp #sustainableagriculture

At NWG, producing certified, high-quality seed involves meticulous attention to detail. From optimizing seed quality at harvest to using advanced drying and cleaning techniques, we ensure only the best seeds make it to your fields. Our rigorous process includes: • Thorough Cleaning: Using air-screening and gravity separation to remove impurities and debris, even at the cost of higher "clean-out" rates. • Conditioning: Optimizing temperature, humidity, and moisture to enhance seed viability, germination rates, and plant vigor. • Certification: Third-party testing ensures purity, high germination rates, and freedom from weed or invasive seeds. Certified seed provides farmers with confidence in quality and performance. NWG Seed Quality Standards: Germination Rate: High; Purity: >99%; Weed Seeds: 0%; Other Crop Seeds: 0%; Inert Matter: <1%; THC Compliance: <0.3% (CDA Validated); and AOSCA Certified. #certifiedseed #qualityassurance #validation #seedtesting #seedcleaning

NWG’s CSO Dr. John McKay states, “The key to durable sequestration occurs when roots surpass a depth of 50cm. The more roots that surpass this depth, the more carbon is captured, and the longer it is stored.” Industrial Hemp has a massively deep root system. The depth of which is unique to row crops and provides multiple benefits in addition to durable carbon sequestration: • Prevents soil erosion • Scavenges for deep stores of Nitrogen • Removes contaminants and heavy metals from the soil • Improves soil structure and water retention • Improves water infiltration and reduces runoff Learn more about how deep hemp roots grow in this paper “Characterisation of hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) roots under different growing conditions” by Amaducci et al. https://lnkd.in/gGVTuGN4 #hemp #deeproots #waterefficiency #NUE #carbonsequestration
