We’re proud to partner with Sesame Workshop on the impactful Helping Children, Families, and Communities Grieve initiative, which has been instrumental in raising awareness about grief, especially for our youngest grievers who are often overlooked. A special thank you to Elmo and Andrew Garfield for having an open and caring discussion on this important topic. Sesame Workshop continues to be a true champion for all bereaved children. Together, we’re providing the resources and awareness needed for all bereaved children to be seen, heard, and supported. Our work has also been nominated for an Anthem Community Voice award by Anthem Awards, which aims to amplify voices that inspire global change. If you haven't already, you can cast your vote for "Growing as We Grieve" here: https://nyl.co/4f6NbOq
Last week, Andrew Garfield stopped by Sesame Street for a powerful and emotional conversation with Elmo. Their heartfelt exchange shines a light on the importance of open and direct communication about grief, even with young children. Loss and grief inevitably impact everyone, and sharing ways to cope is important for us all. Seeing Andrew Garfield’s willingness to be vulnerable while telling Elmo some of the ways he grieves the loss of his beloved mother is a good reminder that strong feelings can be empowering—and that children should be included in the conversation. Historically, there has been a lack of resources intended for them, but young children feel grief as intensely as adults do, and they need comfort and age-appropriate support. Our research-based resources, including videos, activities, and more, address grief from a child’s perspective, as Sesame Workshop always does, and feature our beloved Sesame Street friends like Elmo, who has struck such an emotional chord this week. They offer comfort, hope, and ways to look ahead and start to heal as a family—including keeping a loved one’s memory alive. Because, as Andrew says in the video about his mum, “It makes me feel close to her when I miss her.” Learn more about our grief resources at Sesame.org/grief and thank you to the New York Life Foundation for making these resources possible!

AI will soon be central to the future of business. But with its rapid adoption, it's crucial for corporations to take a strong stance on AI ethics. Companies need to ask hard questions about data sourcing, model bias, monitoring outputs, and handling both anticipated and unintended effects. Investors too need to consider these ethical policies in their analysis. Learn more in New York Life Investments‘ megatrends report. https://lnkd.in/eqJ7zWEx
