Did you know that Hispanic business owners represent 14.5% of all businesses in the US? Though today marks the last day of #HispanicHeritageMonth, we're still celebrating the amazing contributions of Hispanic entrepreneurs. Donald Jones recently spoke with two LA business owners - Adriana Cortes of Delicious at The Dunbar and Rafael Ortiz Jr of Ortiz Jr Auto Repair - to discuss multi-generational family businesses, the importance of supporting your community, and how identity can be leveraged as an asset in the journey to entrepreneurial success. Read more about how we're partnering with Community Reinvestment Fund, USA to help connect California #SmallBusinesses with responsible lending options, with support from Mastercard Strive. https://lnkd.in/g-U_8TC8
A new kind of collaboration may change the landscape for #SmallBusiness lending in California. Through a first-of-its-kind partnership between Mastercard Strive USA grantees, Next Street and Community Reinvestment Fund, USA, the California Small Business Loan Match program is helping entrepreneurs — particularly those from underserved communities — connect with affordable, responsible lenders to grow their businesses. With this partnership, small business owners across the state are being matched with mission-driven #CDFIs, giving them access to capital they may not have received elsewhere. Since its launch in April 2024, the program has already facilitated over 2,600 matches between small businesses and lenders, creating a more inclusive path for small business growth. This unique collaboration highlights how finding new ways of working together can create meaningful impact for real people and businesses. With our election now one month away, The PlayFull Podcast moves into a vital exploration of Narrative Change, knowing that words and stories are ultimately what bind us or tear us apart. We begin the new series with author, co-CEO, and investor Charisse Conanan Johnson, CFA of Next Street. In her personal and professional life, Charisse proves daily, and over decades, that the stories we tell ourselves and others give us the chance to connect, heal, understand, build, grow, and thrive. Or the opposite. Listen in as we discuss equity, opportunity, entrepreneurship, racism, parenting, politics, and the true meaning of wealth. Plus we pause for a moment to consider rainbows and, of course, ice cream. #playmatters #changemakers #impact #equity #opportunity #entreprenuership #narrativechange #politics #democracy #election
