I’m pleased to share that NextGen Policy Partnerships Manager and Senior Policy Advisor, Elena Santamaria recently appeared on the front page of The Sacramento Bee as part of a feature story! Elena was interviewed for an article that spotlighted AAPI Latino families and how their children are helping to reshape the future of both California and their cultures. In the article, Elena opens up about the difficulties and challenges she’s had to face and overcome throughout her life with respect to her Vietnamese and Mexican cultural identities. The NextGen team is very proud to call Elena one of our colleagues and we recognize and truly appreciate the courage it took for her to share her lived experiences. She and her family have shown remarkable strength, adaptability, and resilience in their response to cultural prejudices. Elena leads NextGen’s health care policy as well as Racial Equity Commission work and our team looks forward to continuing our advocacy, legislative, and grassroots organizing efforts to help build a better and more prosperous future for all who call the Golden State home! ⭐Read the full article featuring Elena and other members of the AAPI Latino community for more: https://lnkd.in/d5JwZr9q
