With National Baking Week underway, we would like to highlight and celebrate the fantastic work of Fly Cup Enterprises in Inverurie. The coffee shop located at Blackhall Industrial Estate in Inverurie offers some fantastic sweet treats, afternoon tea, sandwiches, and even meal delivery services. Since its establishment in 2000, Fly Cup Enterprises has provided invaluable training opportunities to adults with learning disabilities, known as trainees. These trainees, who work in the bakery, kitchen, coffee shop, and office, not only learn new skills but also gain a boost in self-confidence and self-esteem. Trainees can also work towards ASDAN personal and social development awards and Scottish Vocational Qualifications. With a team of staff members, volunteers, and trainees, Fly Cup enterprises offer a warm, welcoming experience for their guests. The coffee shop is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and serves fantastic treats made fresh daily, using local produce where possible. The NFU Mutual Inspirational Young Person Award 2024 winners have been announced! 🥳 🎉 We have come to the end of another campaign partnering with Scotland Food & Drink to recognise inspirational young people working and studying within the sector. Matt Farmer, a 23-year-old commercial development co-ordinator from Newton Mearns in Glasgow, has won NFU Mutual’s Inspirational Young Person Award. Matt Farmer, this year’s winner, said: “Thank you for the Inspirational Young Person Winner Award. It serves as a testament to the dedication and passion I bring to my work and is a fantastic way to celebrate the end of my first year with Brakes and Scotland Food & Drink. “I am truly grateful for the recognition and will continue to strive for excellence in my future career in this fantastic industry.” Alongside Matt, runner-up for the award was Craig Cameron, who is store manager at Mimi’s Bakehouse in Edinburgh, as well as Founder of Coffee Cabin, Steven Robert Sorokaniuk, and Steven Mitchell, Business Partner at Kenmore Bakery, who both came joint-third.
