📓 Scrappy Marketing 101 As a startup, we are constantly looking for affordable ways to connect with our customers. While we wanted to have a presence at SpelHouse Homecoming, we envisioned something more dynamic than a traditional vendor table. Lauren Mitchell (Grant) and I had th idea of organizing a flash mob of dancers, so we reached out to CiCi Kelley, MFA, Director of Spelman College's Dance Theater, with the vision. When I asked about interested student dancers, CiCi took it a step further and suggested an even better opportunity: introducing the Jaguarettes, Spelman's new dance team, at Market Friday. We then connected with Kitiya King, founder of Mischo Beauty and fellow Spelman graduate, to explore a potential collaboration. Once she gave us the green light, we were off to the races. The team spent several weeks perfecting their routine. In true entrepreneurial fashion, we managed to design and print team shirts within 72 hours of the event (yes, I'm a master procrastinator 😅). Everything came together beautifully as I stood on the sidelines beaming like a proud Auntie.
