More than Just a Workout, the YMCA is a Family, a Community of Support.
About us
INVESTING IN OUR KIDS, OUR HEALTH AND OUR NEIGHBORS At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Strong communities don’t just happen, they’re the result of steady leadership and stewardship of strong values. That’s the Y. We make a difference by focusing on three key areas: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. By investing in our kids, our health and our neighbors, the YMCA of Greater Nashua ensures that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to thrive. YOUTH DEVELOPMENT Nurturing the potential of every child and teen We believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for life. At the Y, children and teens learn values and positive behaviors through childcare, afterschool and camping programs, and can explore their unique talents and interests in the pool, dance studio and sports courts. We help them realize their potential. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow. HEALTHY LIVING Improving the nation’s health and well-being In addition to over 100 free group exercise classes offered weekly at our Merrimack and Nashua facilities, the Y has specialized programs to help those struggling with healthy living. From the free 16-week Healthy Steps Program for adults to Prescribe the Y physical activity and nutrition sessions where children are referred by their pediatricians, the Y is here to help. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Giving back and providing support to our neighbors To bring about meaningful change, individuals need ongoing encouragement and tools. We are here day-in and day-out to make sure children, adults and seniors have what they need to achieve their best.

It was great to gather with our friends and colleagues last Friday to discuss the work we are doing around supporting staff mental health and well-being when The Granite YMCA hosted their Mental Health Forum. Our workforce is a big driver for our overall culture and we know that a large chunk of our success, whether it be achieving goals, connecting members or creating a strong sense of belonging, begins with supporting our staff and building strengths-based approaches to mental health.
The Granite YMCA hosted a Mental Health Forum on Friday, October 4, uniting community leaders, businesses and organizations from across New Hampshire. The event featured engaging panels, an inspiring keynote speaker, and interactive workshops focused on strengths-based approaches to mental health. Together, we explored strategies to enhance mental health care and raise awareness within our communities. A heartfelt thank you to all who attended and contributed to these essential discussions. Special thanks to our sponsors: YouthWell New Hampshire, and Endowment for Health. Also a huge thank you to our presenters and panelists: The Joy Labs, Dover Mental Health Alliance, Greater Portsmouth Youth Wellness Coalition, The Upper Room, New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, Eversource Energy, YMCA of Greater Nashua, Recovery Friendly Workplace, Southern New Hampshire University, Elliot Hospital, NAMI New Hampshire (National Alliance on Mental Illness), Senator Becky Whitley and Dover NH Police. Your collaboration is truly making a difference!
