Housing has officially become the #1 concern amongst younger generations. Yet, incredibly few startups are actually *building* in the space. We understand why (it's hard!) but it's quickly becoming our generation's most important challenge. Name some startups (<5 years old) building housing. Bonus points if they have something already built! (Photo from Raleigh Village #1)

It takes a village to build a village! We had a blast at our second village groundbreaking on the beautiful island of Roatán (direct flights from Miami, Houston, Denver and more). Once complete, our members will be able to move here from the NOMAD Development, Inc. Raleigh village (and back) at any time, on the same lease. As we add more locations, the option to move to and from various furnished locations with consistent lodging & amenities will remain! HUGE thanks to many of our community members, investors and our team for making the trip (though as you can see, wasn't too rough 😉) Also want to extend my thanks to Próspera and Erick A. Brimen for hosting us, partnering with us, and taking the time to talk with our members about unleashing human potential through private investment and innovation. Was also great connecting with the Vitalia.city community (under the dome!) Lastly, thanks to one of our members Annie Bovitz for volunteering to take and put together such epic footage. In case you missed it, we’ve added Hardik Raval to the NOMAD team as Chief Development Officer. Hardik is an experienced developer, real estate investor, and franchise operator / founder. He has purchased, entitled, and developed hundreds of acres worth of real estate within NC, selling to some of the largest home building companies in America. Hardik’s expertise will be an incredible asset for us at NOMAD, especially as we scale to various locations around the world! We’re honored to have him onboard. Welcome to the team, Hardik.

*NEW DESIGNS* We’re announcing multiple new NODE designs that we’ve been working on for quite some time. Consistency in quality & aesthetic, diversity in options for a wider range of lifestyles—the variety of designs will dramatically enhance the NOMAD co-living experience. From Left-to-Right: NODE — Our smallest single family unit, designed for affordability, equipped with a compact kitchen, bathroom, dining, workspace, and office space. It can be joined together to form a duplex (NODE Echo) NODE+ — Our flagship product. Cost-effective, spacious, & premium. NODE Echo —Two NODEs, inverted and attached at the wall, forming a duplex. This is likely one of the most affordable (and legal) per-unit premium home designs in the country. NODE Astra — Everything you love from the NODE+, housed within the beloved A-Frame design. With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it’s perfect for young nomadic families! NODE Atom — A *very tiny* NODE that anyone can build. Perfect for glamping, the NODE Atom comes without a bathroom or kitchen, but has enough room for a queen bed and workspace. Bonus: may not need permits in many jurisdictions. We will have more than a few of these designs built in the wild, this year!

It was such an incredible honor to spend time with His Majesty, the King of Bhutan (known locally as Druk Gyalpo འབྲུག་རྒྱལ་པོ་ — The Dragon King), along with many amazing members of his ministry this week (which also happened to be on my birthday!) I can’t express my gratitude enough—it was some of the best hospitality I’ve ever received. Also owe a huge thanks to Balaji Srinivasan, one of our earliest investors, for the introduction. We spoke at length on topics ranging from SARs / SEZs, digital currencies, nomadism, AI, “Bitcoin-as-a-battery” for excess power capacity, environmentalism, fertility, family, culture, history, achieving symbiosis between tradition and innovation—and much more. While touring the beautiful, peaceful Himalayan country (by helicopter!), we visited some of the most unique hospitality projects in the region, along with one of the most exciting new developments on earth, Mindfulness City—the brand-new special economic zone in Gelephu, Bhutan. For the first time in the country’s history, it appears that foreigners will be able to seamlessly do business in Bhutan, move there, invest, develop, own and more. In an effort to build a future economy that is worthy of retaining the country’s youth as it experiences significant reduction in its young population, Bhutan has come up with one of the world’s most ambitious and innovative projects. Bhutan is lucky to have such a genuine, noble, humble and forward-thinking leader. Read more about the King’s vision and the Mindfulness City announcement here: https://lnkd.in/dPCsSpcs
