Ever heard of Emotional Agility? It refers to our ability to navigate our emotions effectively. In the nonprofit sector, where mission-driven work often involves high stakes and emotional intensity, this skill is crucial. Research shows that emotionally agile individuals can better manage stress, make informed decisions, and maintain strong relationships. By acknowledging and accepting our feelings—rather than suppressing or avoiding them—we can respond more adaptively to challenges. The benefits extend to teamwork, as emotionally agile teams are more collaborative and innovative. When team members feel safe to express their emotions, they foster open communication and trust, leading to a more cohesive unit. This collaboration not only enhances problem-solving but also amplifies the collective impact on the mission. Ultimately, cultivating emotional agility within teams leads to higher morale, reduced burnout, and increased organizational effectiveness. As nonprofits strive to make a difference, embracing this superpower transforms not just individual well-being, but the entire team's capacity to drive meaningful change. Embrace emotional agility—it's not just good for you; it's good for your mission! 🌍💼 #EmotionalAgility #NonprofitImpact #TeamworkMatters Want to learn more? The single most important driver of trust in the workplace? Emotional skills. Specifically, it’s the ability of a leader or colleague to acknowledge difficult emotions in others. So, the next time your organization is going through a transformation or change, a crucial way to build trust with your team is to simply acknowledge how they feel. If you’d like to develop the skills needed to support others through complexity and change using the framework of emotional agility, I’ll be launching Emotional Agility for Organizational Transformation soon. Embracing the journey of self-improvement is like sculpting a masterpiece from raw marble; it requires patience, dedication, and vision. Every small effort you make to better yourself—whether it’s mastering a new skill, overcoming a fear, or simply showing up with a positive mindset—shapes the person you’re destined to become. Remember, greatness isn’t defined by grand gestures but by the consistent, often unseen work you put into growing and evolving. Complete all 10 workshops in our #MindfulManager series and earn your Mindful Manager Certificate, a mark of your commitment to mastering adaptive leadership. The workshops are designed to be flexible, so you can take them in any order that suits your schedule. Celebrate each step forward, no matter how small, for they collectively build a foundation of achievement and fulfillment. By investing in yourself today, you pave the way for a tomorrow filled with possibilities and triumphs.

We are so grateful to have such involved facilitators in our network! If you're getting started on your data measurement and storytelling, Luiza's website is a wonderful place to start!
Writing has been my companion for many years. It’s how I support communities I'm part of. Impactful Data is born from two years and four iterations of my workshop “Demonstrate Your Impact” in partnership with Nonprofit Solutions, of amazing growth and learning from Stand Together Foundation, and of working directly with small and medium organizations. The website is not comprehensive. It’s a foundation to build upon through your journey with impact measurement, no matter where you are. It summarizes key takeaways from each class, conversation, and experimentation. The pages follow the pillars of the workshop: - “The question that matters” encourages you to clarify what you want to measure and why. - “Find the answers” differentiates between output and outcome to help you be intentional when choosing measures to answer your question. - “Share your findings” discusses data storytelling, who your audience is, and what you want them to do with your findings. - “Best practices” supports you throughout your journey with practices grounded in respect and sustainability. This was a work of resilience as much as intellectual labor. When trying to decide if it was good enough to be published, I kept hearing Juliana Goes saying “Don’t wait to be ready” and Adriene Mishler writing “Don’t be brilliant, just begin.” I was also reminded of the Agile ebook I wrote for Phomenta and the power of an MVP and short product cycles. I’m both excited to publish this first version and eager for feedback. With a growth mindset, here it goes! https://lnkd.in/gcU7gjgT
