Last week, the NorDx team, led by our President, Guillermo G. Martinez-Torres, MD, FCAP, FASCP, alongside our sales and marketing team members, Nicholas Adler, MBA, Deb Tirrell, Bradford Anthoine, Michael MacDonald were excited to attend Mayo Clinic Laboratories conference, “2024 Leveraging the Laboratory: Seize Tomorrow”. This year, the conference was held in Rochester, Minnesota, where attendees were able to tour Mayo’s world-renowned laboratory facilities. The conference presentations, delivered by laboratory leaders from across the country, were enlightening and stimulated engaging discussion. Networking with other laboratory professionals from diverse backgrounds presented an invaluable opportunity for our team to exchange ideas and experiences, and in turn, amass a wealth of knowledge to bring back with us The representation from NorDx was further heightened as Guillermo G. Martinez-Torres, MD, FCAP, FASCP shared his journey with NorDx that began 18 months ago. He imparted insights on crafting a “Just Culture” within the organization along with establishing a safe platform for leaders to propose new initiatives. Significant lessons drawn from the conference include the importance of maintaining currency with medical developments, utilizing laboratory data to enhance healthcare performance, and establishing connections with fellow laboratories. #pathology #laboratorymedicine #leadership #nordxnow

Our beloved Kathy Messier, a loyal part of our NorDx family for 20 delightful years, is heading into her well-deserved retirement this week after colleagues hosted a great dinner celebration. Starting as a per diem in 2004, then moving up to a full-time role in 2006, Kathy has certainly left a lasting mark on all of us. Her wonderful journey with us ended as our cherished MLA at the Kennebunk draw station where she charmed not just us but also a whole stream of patients with her exceptional care that can only be described as "above and beyond". It's hard to recall a visit without hearing praises of Kathy's stellar service. While we're sure going to miss her, we're also excited for her next adventure as she plans to inspire young ones to swim at her local gym. Happy retirement, Kathy! #nordxnow #joinourteam

NorDx takes this opportunity to express our gratitude towards our valued summer interns - Caleb Lambert, Samantha Tran, Abby Bouchard, and Veronica Chun. These dedicated individuals were engaged across many departments within our lab over the past few months. Their experience at NorDx has broadened their understanding of the diverse career prospects within a clinical laboratory. Our proud NorDx family, known for its warm camaraderie, hands-on teaching approach, and team-based problem-solving were greatly cherished by the interns. As they move forward in their academic and professional pursuits, we wish them all success.
